Salted Caramel Pretzel Bars serves: 12

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Total time: 2 hours 25 minutes

You will need

• 3 cups crushed pretzels

• 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

• 1/4 cup brown sugar

• 1 (11 oz) bag caramel bits

• 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

• 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet milk chocolate chips

• 1 tbsp flaky sea salt

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and brown sugar.

Stir until the pretzels are evenly coated, then press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared dish.

2. Bake the pretzel crust for 8–10 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly.

Meanwhile, combine the caramel bits and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly until melted and smooth.

3. Pour the caramel mixture over the pretzel crust and spread it evenly.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot caramel and let them sit for 2–3 minutes to melt.

4. Once the chocolate has softened, spread it into an even layer over the caramel.

5. Sprinkle the flaky sea salt over the top. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely set.

Let the bars sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes, then slice and serve.

Tips and tricks!

• Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2–3 days.

• Let the bars sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving for the best texture.

• If the bars are difficult to slice, warm a knife under hot water, dry it carefully, and use the warm knife to cut through the layers.

Substitutions: Milk chocolate or dark chocolate can be used instead of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
